Europe’s Biggest Dance Show to return 25 September!

Electronic music fans across Europe can clear their calendars as Europe’s Biggest Dance Show makes its highly anticipated return on Friday, 25 September 2026, with BBC Radio 1 broadcasting it live to UK audiences.

The massive cross-border event brings together leading public broadcasters from across the continent for a synchronized multi-hour live DJ marathon, connecting millions of listeners through a single shared dance music broadcast.

How the Broadcast Format Works

Organized via the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), the event operates as a seamless technical relay across international borders:

 Live Relay & Technical Hub: Each participating broadcaster generates a dedicated segment featuring top DJs, electronic acts, and hosts from their home country. These audio feeds are routed directly to London, where technical producers at BBC Broadcasting House mix the master audio stream live.

 Simulcast Across Europe: The master feed is transmitted back out to every participating radio network simultaneously, allowing fans in different countries to listen to the exact same set at the exact same moment.

 30-Minute Nation Slots: Each country is allotted a designated 30-minute block to showcase its local dance culture, resident talent, and guest DJ mixes before handing over the virtual baton to the next station.

UK Representation & Broadcasters

In the UK, leading dance authority Danny Howard will take the reins to represent the nation. The entire mega-broadcast will air live across BBC Radio 1 and BBC Radio 1 Dance, as well as streaming via BBC Sounds.
