Coronation Street is set for another dramatic week on the cobbles, as Kit Green struggles to cope with his devastating cancer diagnosis, Eva Price is left fighting for her life and Christina Boyd’s new job brings an unexpected shock.

The latest episodes have revealed the devastating truth about Kit Green’s health.

After the death of his estranged aunt, Bernie Winter discovered that the BRCA gene runs in the family, putting her children Gemma and Kit, as well as grandson Brody, potentially at risk of developing cancer.

But while Bernie remains hopeful about her own test results, Kit has already received his devastating diagnosis.

Unbeknownst to his family, Kit has been diagnosed with stage three breast cancer.

The storyline is now set to have an increasingly serious impact on Kit, with his secret beginning to affect both his relationships and his career. ITV has confirmed that the storyline is being used to explore the reality of male breast cancer, with the show’s team working alongside Macmillan Cancer Support and Breast Cancer Now.

Kit’s cancer secret starts to spiral

On Monday, Bernie’s relentless optimism about her own cancer test results gets on Kit’s nerves.

With Bernie convinced that everything will be fine, Kit struggles to contain his emotions while carrying the knowledge that his own diagnosis is far more serious.

At the police station, his temper is already becoming a problem.

Kit has been under pressure from Lisa to find the person responsible for Luke Cookson’s death, but with his health crisis weighing heavily on him, he loses patience.

Things get worse when Kit confronts a young man he suspects of murdering Luke. The confrontation turns violent and Kit ends up beaten up, leaving him with two black eyes.

It is a dramatic continuation of a storyline that has already seen Kit increasingly unable to cope with the reality of his diagnosis.

And there could be serious consequences for his career.

On Tuesday, Lisa steps in when Kit loses his temper at work. She orders him to take the rest of the day off and warns that if he cannot control his behaviour, his job could be at risk.

Eva Price is found unconscious

Later, Debbie discovers Eva lying unconscious at the bottom of the cellar steps.

An ambulance is eventually called — but questions immediately begin to emerge over what happened to Eva.

Did she simply fall down the cellar stairs, or was somebody else involved?

ITV’s preview confirms that Eva is found unconscious in the cellar, while RadioTimes reports that the circumstances surrounding the fall will leave questions over whether it was accidental or something more sinister.

Christina gets a shock in her new job

Christina Boyd has reason to celebrate when George offers her a promotion.

But her first day in her new role as assistant funeral director doesn’t exactly go according to plan.

George shows Christina how to access a deceased woman’s file — only for Christina to discover something that leaves her visibly horrified.

She hurries away, clearly shaken by what she has seen.

The mystery surrounding Christina’s reaction looks set to become one of the week’s biggest unanswered questions.

Later, George listens to Christina without judgement and assures her that he will support her.

But what exactly has she discovered?

Carl’s latest conquest causes trouble for Debbie

Carl Webster continues to cause problems for Debbie and Ronnie.

After offering his services to Steve on Monday, Carl finds himself at the centre of more romantic drama.

His latest conquest upsets Debbie on Wednesday, while Ronnie eventually reaches breaking point and tells Carl that it is time for him to move out.

For Debbie, however, there are more serious concerns beneath the surface, particularly as her memory problems continue to affect those around her.

Susie lands a musical audition

Susie Price’s singing ambitions take another step forward next week.

Despite Maggie’s disapproval of Susie’s online presence, Susie’s singing video catches the attention of a casting director.

By Wednesday, she has secured an audition for a musical.

The opportunity is exciting for Susie, but her ambitions continue to divide the adults around her, with Maggie particularly unhappy about the way her granddaughter’s singing has been shared online.

Glenda isn’t prepared to let Maggie have the final word, however, and accuses her of sabotage.

Sam becomes desperate to get his phone back

There is also growing concern for Sam Blakeman.

After losing access to his phone, Sam becomes increasingly desperate to retrieve it.

On Thursday, Nick and Toyah are shocked by the intensity of his reaction when he demands the phone back.

He retreats into the Bistro office, where his frustration boils over.
