EastEnders tonight spoilers: Ash Panesar returns as Kat sparks concern

EastEnders is back on BBC One tonight (Monday 21 September), with an unexpected return to Albert Square, trouble for Priya and growing concern surrounding Kat Moon.

The latest episode of the BBC soap airs at 7:30pm on BBC One, with the episode also available to watch on BBC iPlayer.

Monday night’s EastEnders sees Penny and Vinny Panesar return home with their baby, but their homecoming is quickly interrupted when Vinny is called away to deal with a family crisis.

Meanwhile, Priya’s world begins to fall apart and Kat’s behaviour leaves those around her increasingly worried.

Ash Panesar makes an unexpected return

One of the biggest developments in tonight’s EastEnders sees Ash Panesar return to Albert Square after three years away.

Vinny is called to the police station to bail out Suki, only to discover that it is actually his sister Ash who has been arrested.

Ash explains that she has returned to Walford because she wants to see the new baby, leaving the Panesar family stunned by her arrival.

Her return is particularly difficult for Suki, who is initially unwilling to make contact with her daughter.

Eve attempts to persuade Suki to speak to Ash, but tensions soon rise when Ash makes a pointed comment about her mother’s parenting.

The situation eventually begins to calm down, but Suki makes it clear that Ash cannot stay because she and Eve need to focus on foster daughter Ria.

Ash’s return is set to have consequences beyond tonight’s episode, with the character remaining in Walford as the week progresses.

Priya’s world comes crashing down

Elsewhere, Priya Nandra-Hart finds herself in serious trouble after Cindy Beale discovers the truth about her baby’s paternity.

Priya and Ravi return from a baby scan and discuss how they will tell Nugget and Avani about the situation, unaware that Cindy has overheard their conversation.

Cindy starts investigating and eventually discovers the paternity test.

She then confronts Priya and gives her an ultimatum: leave Walford or risk having her secret exposed.

Priya refuses to be intimidated, but Cindy isn’t finished with her.

The storyline could have major consequences for several residents of the Square, particularly with Max Branning revealed to be the baby’s father.

Kat sparks concern

Kat Moon is also at the centre of tonight’s episode as she continues to struggle with recent events.

The Slater family prepares to remember Zoe by planting a tree, but Kat remains focused on finding answers.

She turns to Max in the hope that he can shed some light on what has happened, while Denise later decides she needs to speak to Kat herself.

Kat’s absence when the family gathers for the memorial becomes particularly noticeable, highlighting just how much she is struggling.
