This week’s Strictly Come Dancing leaderboard sees shock change

news - strictly come dancing movie week 2026 songs and dances announced

Delta Goodrem and Kai Widdrington have topped the Strictly Come Dancing leaderboard after a dramatic Movie Week shake-up.

The former Neighbours actress and her professional partner scored 30 points for their American Smooth to “I’ll Never Love Again” from A Star Is Born on Saturday (03.10.26), taking their combined score to 59 points and moving them into first place.

The pair had finished second on last week’s leaderboard with 29 points, but their latest performance saw them go one better as the Strictly Come Dancing couples battled it out for the highest scores of Movie Week.

Head judge Shirley Ballas hailed Delta a “force to be reckoned with”, while Motsi Mabuse told the star she had a “special talent to give feeling”.

She added: “You’ve got everything it takes. I believe in you.”

The result marks a major change at the top of the Strictly Come Dancing leaderboard, with last week’s leaders John Nellis and Katya Jones dropping down the rankings.

John and Katya had scored 31 points last week, but their Couple’s Choice to “An Irish Party in Third Class” from Titanic received just 23 points this time around.

Craig Revel Horwood described their routine as “too heavy-footed”, leaving them with a combined total of 54 points.

Meanwhile, Lacey Turner and Vito Coppola and Graeme Hall and Lauren Oakley are tied in second place on 55 points.

Graeme and Lauren delivered the highest-scoring individual performance of the night, earning 31 points for their waltz to “The Godfather Waltz” from The Godfather.
Motsi declared their performance “mesmerising”, while Craig “absolutely loved it”.
Lacey and Vito danced a quickstep to “I Knew It, I Knew You” from Toy Story 5, earning 28 points and taking their overall total to 55.

Strictly Come Dancing leaderboard sees Shaun Wright-Phillips climb
There was also a dramatic turnaround for Shaun Wright-Phillips and Alexis Warr, who had been joint bottom of the leaderboard last weekend.

The pair climbed away from the bottom after scoring 25 points for their salsa to “You Should Be Dancing” from Saturday Night Fever.

Anton Du Beke said: “We’ll expect this every week now, Alexis spent most of it in the air, unrecognisable.”

However, Craig was less impressed, awarding the couple four points and telling Shaun: “You’re no John Travolta, darling, ploddy, stuck to the floor and no hip action whatsoever, not for me, sorry.

Who is at the bottom of the Strictly leaderboard tonight?

Melanie Walters and Aljaž Škorjanec remain at the bottom of the leaderboard after scoring 15 points for their waltz to “Edelweiss” from The Sound of Music.

The couple received the same score as they did in week one.

Aljaž quipped: “We choreographed the mistakes in, I’m glad the judges spotted them.”

Chris Appleton and Amy Dowden are one place above them after scoring 17 points for their cha cha cha to “I’m Always Here” from Baywatch.
The pair improved by one point compared with last weekend.

With the judges’ scores now in, attention turns to the public vote. The results will be announced on Sunday (04.10.26).
