It’s Icon Week on Strictly and the songs and dances have been confirmed

Strictly Come Dancing’s remaining celebrities are preparing to pay tribute to some of music’s biggest names as the songs and dances for Icons Week are confirmed.

With the competition heating up, the couples will take to the ballroom floor on Saturday night for a special themed episode celebrating legendary performers, with music from Adele, Elton John, Shania Twain, David Bowie and more.

For those hoping to avoid the dreaded dance-off, every performance will count as the remaining contestants battle to impress the judges and secure their place in the competition.

Digital Spy reports Lacey Turner and Vito Coppola will perform an American Smooth to Adele’s emotional hit Hometown Glory, while Shaun Wright-Phillips and Alexis Warr are taking a different approach with a Couples’ Choice routine set to a James Brown medley.

Dame Sarah Storey and Julian Caillon will tackle the Tango to Shania Twain’s That Don’t Impress Me Much, bringing the country superstar’s unmistakable sound to the Strictly ballroom.

Elsewhere, Cach Mercer and Maddie Ingoldsby will pay tribute to Frank Sinatra with a Foxtrot to Theme From New York, New York. Will Best is set to channel Elton John as he and professional partner Dianne Buswell take on a Jive to Crocodile Rock.

John Nellis and Katya Jones will bring some rock drama to the floor with a Paso Doble to Bon Jovi’s It’s My Life, while Jaime Winstone and Carlos Gu are also preparing a Paso Doble, this time to David Bowie’s iconic Let’s Dance.

Dani Dyer and Nikita Kuzmin will slow things down with a Rumba to Mariah Carey’s Hero, while Bethany Antonia and Nancy Xu will aim to get the party started with a Cha Cha to Aretha Franklin’s empowering anthem Respect.

The remaining celebrities are also set to celebrate music icons, although some performance details are still under wraps.

Lawrence Robb will be channeling Ricky Martin, while Graeme Hall has confirmed that he will be performing a Salsa. The exact songs and other routine details for both celebrities have yet to be announced.

Delta and Kai will not dance this week due to injury.
