The Traitors fans won’t have to wait long for their next dose of deception, as The Traitors Ireland arrives on BBC Three this Friday night, immediately following the nail-biting final of The Celebrity Traitors.
The Irish version of the hit reality competition begins at 10pm on Friday, introducing a fresh group of strangers to the ultimate game of trust, betrayal and psychological warfare. This time, the action moves to the atmospheric Slane Castle, where host Siobhán McSweeney will welcome the contestants before selecting the players who will secretly become Traitors.
Viewers can watch the new series on BBC Three, with episodes also available on BBC iPlayer.
What happens in The Traitors Ireland?
As with the other versions of the hugely popular format, the contestants must work together to build a prize fund while trying to work out who among them is secretly plotting against the group.
But the Irish edition gets off to an intriguing start, with a twist in the selection process that immediately leaves the players confused.
As the game begins, one contestant emerges as a hero during the first mission. However, their success could come at a price: has standing out from the crowd made them a target for the Traitors?
Meanwhile, the secretive group meets for the first time, setting the stage for the suspicion, alliances and difficult decisions that will define the competition.
With everyone trying to work out who they can trust, even an apparently innocent move could have consequences.
Siobhán McSweeney hosts from Slane Castle
Leading the new series is Irish actor and presenter Siobhán McSweeney, who welcomes the contestants to the imposing surroundings of Slane Castle.
McSweeney will oversee the challenges, secret decisions and tense encounters as the players attempt to survive the game without being murdered by the Traitors or banished by their fellow contestants.
The castle provides the perfect backdrop for a competition built around secrets and suspicion, as friendships are tested and the Faithful try to expose those working against them.
The opening episode promises an early shake-up, with the unexpected twist threatening to unsettle the group before the game has properly got underway.
