Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon are reuniting for The Trip to the Northern Lights, the eagerly anticipated fifth instalment of the multi-award-winning comedy series, which will return to Sky and NOW this December.
Six years after their Grecian escapades, the pair are embarking on a new culinary adventure, travelling through the rugged landscapes of Northern Europe in search of exceptional food, dry humour and, of course, the elusive Northern Lights.
Directed by acclaimed British filmmaker Michael Winterbottom, whose credits include This England and 24 Hour Party People, the six-part series promises another delicious blend of gastronomic exploration, sharp observations and the famously playful conversations that have become a hallmark of the franchise.
This time, Coogan and Brydon will explore Scandinavia, taking in its distinctive scenery and culinary offerings as they continue their on-screen travels. Against the backdrop of the region’s striking natural beauty, audiences can expect the pair’s familiar mix of witty exchanges, comic impressions and philosophical musings.
The Trip to the Northern Lights is directed by Winterbottom and produced by Revolution Films, Baby Cow Productions and Small Man in association with Sky Studios.
Executive producers are Michael Winterbottom, Melissa Parmenter, Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon, with Alex Moody serving as executive producer for Sky. Josh Hyams is the series producer.
The Trip to the Northern Lights will be available on Sky and NOW in December.
