The Celebrity Traitors continued its ratings reign over the weekend, attracting 9.4 million viewers on Friday night and comfortably outperforming rival programmes across the schedule.
The Studio Lambert-produced BBC hit maintained its impressive momentum following Thursday night’s audience of 10 million, representing a 59.8% share. Although the latest episode saw a slight dip, it remained well ahead of competing shows, underlining the programme’s position as one of the standout performers in television entertainment.
Broadcast between 8pm and 9pm on Friday, The Celebrity Traitors drew 9.4 million viewers, securing a 57.1% audience share and leaving rival broadcasters trailing behind.
The success continued at 9pm with companion programme The Celebrity Traitors: Uncloaked, which attracted 4.1 million viewers and a 33.2% share across its half-hour slot. The show comfortably surpassed the 2.9 million benchmark, reinforcing the popularity of the franchise beyond the main series.
BBC1 continued its strong evening performance with Have I Got News For You, which followed Uncloaked and entertained 3.1 million viewers, securing a 27.6% audience share and helping the channel maintain its slot-winning position.
Elsewhere, Celebrity Gogglebox for SU2C received a ratings boost over the weekend, with 1.3 million viewers tuning in. The programme benefited from the involvement of Andy Burnham, helping draw additional attention to the charity special.
On ITV2, Big Brother: Live Eviction attracted 560,000 viewers, representing a 5.3% audience share during the same period.
Meanwhile, Strictly Come Dancing led the early-evening schedule, drawing 5.4 million viewers and a 45% share across its two-hour broadcast, which began at 6.30pm. However, the figure was considerably down on the equivalent period last year.
Despite the strong performance from Strictly Come Dancing, the weekend’s figures highlighted the scale of The Celebrity Traitors‘ appeal, with the main show and its companion programme delivering substantial audiences for BBC1.
With millions continuing to tune in, The Celebrity Traitors has established itself as a major ratings force, maintaining a significant lead over its competition and extending its success beyond the main episodes.
This week’s final episodes could score record viewing figures for the series. An extra-long episode on Friday night will draw the record-breaking season to a close. As the ultimate game of deception and trust draws to a close, the stakes have never been higher as the celebrity players face their final, explosive mission. With the prize fund complete, will the pressure of winning cloud anyone’s vision? Will the Faithful banish all of the Traitors to secure victory, or will the Traitors manage to deceive until the bitter end?
After the finale, Claudia and the finalists join Ed Gamble for The Celebrity Traitors: Uncloaked, which should also reach new heights in the ratings.
