Maya Jama Generously Donates Expected Winnings to Action for Children Following Dramatic Celebrity Traitors Elimination

TV presenter Maya Jama has made a huge charitable gesture following her stint on the BBC’s Celebrity Traitors, matching the full share of prize money she would have taken home had she emerged victorious in the castle.

The Love Island host—who was the last original Traitor remaining in the series—was banished during Friday night’s dramatic final after coming under intense suspicion from her fellow contestants. Despite missing out on the prize pot right at the finish line, Jama announced on Saturday that she would still be personally funding the cash sum for her nominated charity.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter) to share the heartwarming update, Jama wrote: “Just donated what I would have won for my chosen charity @ActnForChildren. Amazing cause.”

What Action for Children Does

Jama’s chosen charity, Action for Children, is one of the UK’s leading youth organizations. The charity works directly to protect and support vulnerable children, young people, and their families across the UK. Their services range from tackling child poverty and providing emergency relief to supporting young people who have suffered abuse and neglect, as well as finding safe foster homes and delivering crucial mental health services.

Who Won Celebrity Traitors and Where Did the Prize Money Go?

Following Jama’s elimination at the round table—and the subsequent banishment of her co-conspirator King Kenny—the game came down to the final Faithfuls.

Comedian Romesh Ranganathan and Heartstopper actor Sebastian “Bash” Croft were crowned the joint winners of the series after successfully rooting out all the Traitors. The duo split the final £83,000 jackpot equally to benefit their respective causes:

Sebastian Croft donated his £41,500 share to Choose Love, a charity that provides vital aid, advocacy, and support to refugees and displaced people worldwide.

Romesh Ranganathan donated his £41,500 share to the Refugee Council, which works to support and rebuild the lives of refugees and asylum seekers settling in the UK.

Though Jama’s devious tactics inside the castle didn’t pay off with the ultimate win, her generous personal contribution ensures that Action for Children receives life-changing support regardless.
