Jodie Prenger has been giving fans a glimpse of what lies ahead for her Coronation Street character, Glenda Shuttleworth, teasing the possibility of a new man entering her life.
The actress caught up with wheretowatch.tv presenter Dan Cole when we were invited backstage on the famous Cobbles this week.
We spoke to several members of the Coronation Street cast ahead of Monday night’s special episode, which sees Debbie and her “angels” come together for an evening of surprises, revelations and unexpected drama.
During her interview, Jodie dropped a hint about a potential new romance for Glenda and also joked that she would love to see her character enjoy a well-deserved holiday next year!
It comes as Producer Kate Brooks revealed to press that Glenda will have a big storyline in 2027. “It will really unpack Glenda as a character because obviously she is a fabulous character and very Elsie Tanner!” she told us and other media on Friday. “There is a big story coming up, which will hit the screens around March time.”

Debbie’s birthday surprise brings the women together
In Monday’s episode, Abi, Bernie, Christina, Sally and Glenda gather at Debbie’s flat to help organise a special birthday surprise for Carl.
Debbie tips a plastic crate onto the carpet, revealing hundreds of photographs collected over the years. She explains that she wants the women to help create a photo book for Carl’s 40th birthday.
What initially promises to be a fun and nostalgic bonding experience soon takes an unexpected turn as old tensions begin to surface.
As the women look back through the photographs, discussions about family history and past trauma lead to some heated confrontations. With emotions running high, keeping the birthday celebrations on track proves to be no easy task.
However, amid the disagreements, some of the women find comfort in opening up about their own personal struggles, while others are forced to consider difficult decisions about their futures.
By the end of the evening, tensions have eased and the women manage to put their differences aside, coming together to move forward. But behind closed doors, several are left facing significant, life-changing choices.
