Amy Robbins (Christina Boyd) has been chatting to wheretowatch.tv about the strong women of Coronation Street, both past and present, ahead of a special episode of the ITV soap airing on Monday night.
The interview celebrates the memorable female characters who have helped make Weatherfield what it is today, and the strength, resilience and friendships that continue to play such an important part in life on the cobbles.

In Monday’s episode, Abi, Bernie, Christina, Sally and Glenda gather at Debbie’s flat to help organise a special birthday surprise for Carl.
Debbie empties a plastic crate onto the carpet, revealing hundreds of photographs taken over the years. Explaining that she wants to create a photo book for Carl’s 40th birthday, she enlists the women’s help in putting together a collection of treasured memories.
However, what begins as a fun bonding experience soon descends into chaos as old tensions begin to surface.
As the women look through the photographs, conversations turn towards family history and past traumas, sparking heated confrontations and threatening to derail the birthday celebrations.
Amid the disagreements, there are also moments of genuine connection, with some of the women finding comfort in opening up about their personal struggles and confiding in one another.
For others, however, the evening brings difficult questions about the future, with important decisions needing to be made.
By the end of the evening, the atmosphere has changed as the women manage to clear the air and put their differences aside, uniting as they look towards the future.
But despite ending the night on a more positive note, several of the women are left privately facing significant, life-changing choices.
With plenty of emotion, unexpected confrontations and moments of solidarity, Monday’s episode puts the spotlight firmly on the women of Weatherfield and the complicated relationships that bind them together.
Watch Coronation Street weeknights at 8.30pm on ITV1, stream it on ITVX.
