ITV viewers tuning in to Lorraine this morning have been left disappointed after the popular daytime programme was unexpectedly cancelled due to a power outage at the studio.
Updated: This Morning also pulled off air.
The show, hosted by Lorraine Kelly, was due to air as usual this morning. However, an electrical issue at the H Club Studio in Covent Garden, where the programme is filmed, meant the team were unable to broadcast the show live.
Lorraine took to Instagram to update fans on the situation, expressing her disappointment that she would not be able to join viewers as planned.
The presenter also revealed that a scheduled live interview with Texas frontwoman Sharleen Spiteri would have to be rearranged, with the interview now set to take place at a later date.
Sharing the news with her followers, Lorraine explained that the unexpected technical problems had disrupted the morning’s ITV schedule.
Is This Morning on today?
Despite the cancellation of Lorraine, viewers will still be able to watch This Morning, although the programme is also facing a delayed start.
Lorraine explained that ITV was hoping to get This Morning on air at around 11am, later than its usual start time of 10am.
The delay means viewers will need to wait a little longer before seeing the likes of the This Morning presenting team.
In the meantime, Good Morning Britain will be extended to fill the gap in the schedule.

Good Morning Britain extended following Lorraine cancellation
Wednesday’s edition of Good Morning Britain, presented by Susanna Reid and Ed Balls, will run longer than usual as ITV works around the unexpected power problems. GMB comes from a different studio, located in London’s Holborn.
Fortunately, the programme is unlikely to be short of talking points.
The morning’s extended coverage comes after a major night in US politics, with the results of the latest American elections providing plenty of potential discussion for the GMB team.
The presenters are expected to have plenty to explore as viewers catch up on the latest political developments across the Atlantic.
When will Lorraine return to ITV?
At present, the disruption appears to be affecting this morning’s broadcast, rather than signalling a longer-term change to the programme.
Lorraine fans will have to wait for the rescheduled interview with Sharleen Spiteri, while ITV works to get its daytime schedule back to normal.
For now, viewers hoping to catch their usual morning instalment of Lorraine will have to make do with an extended Good Morning Britain before This Morning is expected to take over at approximately 11am.
It is an unusual start to the day for ITV, with an unexpected power outage leaving one of its best-known daytime programmes temporarily off air.
