Apple TV has officially ordered an eight-season pickup for its award-winning espionage drama Slow Horses, starring Academy Award winner Sir Gary Oldman as the cantankerous Jackson Lamb.

Adapted by Ben Vanstone from Mick Herron’s ninth novel Clown Town, the six-episode eighth season will be directed by Adam Randall. The upcoming season forces Lamb and Diana Taverner into an explosive showdown after a blackmail plot against MI5’s headquarters threatens to expose the agency’s dark secrets.
