Sebastian Croft may not have had quite as much screen time on The Celebrity Traitors as some of his fellow contestants so far, but the actor and singer is quietly establishing himself as one of the names to keep an eye on.
While Maya Jama, Richard E Grant and Julie Hesmondhalgh have attracted plenty of attention in the early episodes, Croft has been described as an “under-the-radar contender” and “the one to watch”.
But who is Sebastian Croft, and where might you recognise him from?
Who is Sebastian Croft?
Sebastian Croft grew up in Sutton Courtenay, Oxfordshire, and began his acting journey when he was just seven years old, taking classes at Stagecoach Abingdon.
His early training led to opportunities on the stage, including appearances in major West End productions such as Oliver! and Les Misérables.
It wasn’t long before Croft began making the move from the stage to the screen.
What TV shows and films has Sebastian Croft appeared in?
If Sebastian Croft looks familiar, there’s a good chance you’ve seen him on television or in a film before.
One of his early screen appearances came in the acclaimed horror drama Penny Dreadful. He also appeared in Game of Thrones, where he played the younger version of Eddard Stark.
Croft subsequently appeared in Horrible Histories: The Movie – Rotten Romans, a role that earned him a Children’s BAFTA nomination.
But it was his next major role that introduced him to a huge international audience.
Sebastian Croft in Heartstopper
Croft landed one of his best-known roles as Ben Hope in Netflix’s hugely popular Heartstopper.
Based on Alice Oseman’s webcomic and graphic novels, the series follows teenagers Charlie Spring and Nick Nelson as their friendship develops into a romantic relationship at school.
Before Charlie and Nick’s relationship unfolds, however, Charlie is secretly seeing Ben — a complicated character who becomes an antagonist during the early part of the story.
Croft’s performance as Ben helped establish him as one of the recognisable young actors in the Heartstopper cast.
Sebastian Croft’s music career
Acting isn’t Croft’s only creative pursuit.
The star has also been developing a career as a singer-songwriter, releasing his debut EP, The Great Forever, last year.
His debut single, Tokyo, arrived in late 2025, followed by Better Than Ever.
More recently, Croft released Pretty People, with the track arriving alongside his appearance on The Celebrity Traitors.
The move into music gives Croft another avenue to showcase his talents, and he’s already had the opportunity to perform in front of a sizeable live audience.
Sebastian Croft at BST Hyde Park
Croft has already taken his music to the stage, performing at British Summer Time Hyde Park in London.
He appeared as a support act for Lewis Capaldi, giving the rising performer the chance to play to a huge festival audience.
It’s another indication that Croft’s ambitions extend well beyond acting, with live performance increasingly becoming part of his career.
Will Sebastian Croft appear on Strictly Come Dancing?
Croft could soon be adding another major TV appearance to his growing list of credits.
Wheretowatch.tv understands that he is set to perform on an upcoming Strictly Come Dancing Results Show.
An appearance on Strictly would give his music career another high-profile platform, particularly as he continues to release new material.
Is Sebastian Croft performing at Capital’s Jingle Bell Ball?
There is also speculation that Croft could be heading to one of the biggest events in the UK pop calendar.
He has been rumoured to be part of the lineup for Capital’s Jingle Bell Ball, although this has not been officially confirmed.
Capital’s annual Christmas spectacular is expected to return to London’s O2 in December, with the 2026 lineup anticipated to be revealed in November.
If Croft does appear, it would represent another significant step in his development as a live performer — and could introduce his music to an even wider audience.
For now, his potential Jingle Bell Ball appearance remains a rumour, but with The Celebrity Traitors, Strictly Come Dancing and his growing music career all putting him in the spotlight, Sebastian Croft looks set to become increasingly familiar to TV and music audiences.
From West End to The Celebrity Traitors
Croft’s career has already taken him from the West End stage to some of television’s biggest shows and now into reality television and music.
At just 24, he has built an impressive list of credits, from playing a young Eddard Stark in Game of Thrones to Ben Hope in Heartstopper, while simultaneously developing his own music career.
And while he’s keeping a relatively low profile on The Celebrity Traitors for now, that could soon change.
With his acting experience, stage background and growing musical career, Croft certainly has plenty of experience to draw upon — and if the “one to watch” label proves accurate, viewers may want to keep a close eye on him as the series continues.
