Currently filming in Belfast, the six-part installment shifts the real-time action from the railways to the open waters of the Irish Sea, following a cyber-attack on a Belfast-to-Liverpool passenger ferry.
A High-Stakes Maritime Thriller
Written by BAFTA and RTS award-winner Nick Leather and produced by Element Pictures (Normal People), Season 2 pits ferry second engineer Johnny (Cooke) alongside the National Cyber Security Centre’s technical director Bo (Morgan) and Beth (Mantock) as they race to counter a deadly, unseen threat. As crew members scramble to keep panic at bay, secrets surface and the crisis rapidly spills over to those on land.
An All-Star Ensemble
Alongside the new lead trio, Season 2 delivers a heavyweight supporting cast:
- High-Profile Additions: Rupert Penry-Jones (Spooks) steps in as Richard, joined by TV veterans Ian McElhinney (Game of Thrones) as Charlie and Sally Lindsay (Cold Call) as Lisa.
- Fresh Faces Onboard: The ensemble expands with Alexander Arnold (Yesterday), Lydia Page (Blue Jean), Christine Bottomley (Sherwood), Julie Dray (Avenue 5), Pooky Quesnel (The A Word), and Jonathan Harden (Blue Lights).
- Returning Favorites: Reprising their roles from the debut season are Parth Thakerar (Saj), Jonjo O’Neill (Hud), and Micah Balfour (Leon).
Behind the Scenes
Creator Nick Leather described the Belfast-to-Liverpool route as his ideal new “box-of-tricks,” promising a non-stop, high-stakes night at sea. Helmed by directors James Kent (The White Queen) and Chris Baugh (Wreck), the series is executive produced by Kate Harwood, Rachel Dargavel, Ed Guiney, Andrew Lowe, Christopher Aird, and Lindsay Salt for the BBC.
