Capital Breakfast presenters Jordan North and Sian Welby are set to take part in a new series of celebrity editions of Bullseye.
According to The Sun, the radio favourites, who also host the annual Jingle Bell Ball, will be among the famous faces taking on the iconic ITV darts gameshow.
The appearance, which is likely to be hilarious, comes after Jordan North and Sian Welby’s cameos in Toy Story 5. Their respective characters, ‘Garden Gnome’ and ‘Inflatable Flamingo’, (remember them?) joined Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Jessie and the gang as they faced their newest challenge: Toy meets Tech.
They will be joined by I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! winner Angryginge, reality favourite and EastEnders legend Joe Swash, and former footballer Dion Dublin.
Darts superstars Luke Littler and Michael van Gerwen will also feature in the primetime series, alongside announcer Richard Ashdown.
It’s not the first time celebs have faced Bully, Mark Wright, Kym Marsh, and Jon Richardson are among the famous names that have appeared in previous specials.
The return of Bullseye comes as ITV looks to capitalise on the huge popularity of darts, with the revamped format bringing the classic gameshow to a new generation of viewers.
The programme sees a pairing of one skilled darts player, known as the ‘Great Thrower’, and one general knowledge expert, the ‘Knower’, compete together in the hope of winning an array of prizes.
Casting for the upcoming run was completed over the summer, with filming now underway ahead of the episodes airing this winter and over the Christmas period.
The show’s comeback has already proved a hit with audiences, with seven million viewers tuning in to watch last year’s Christmas special.
Host Freddie Flintoff has expressed his delight at the programme’s continued success, saying: “It’s great that Bullseye still has a special place in the nation’s heart, as it does mine, and I loved bringing it back on TV screens. I can’t wait to see what a new season brings.”
Katie Rawcliffe, Director of Entertainment, Reality & Daytime Commissioning at ITV, said: “Bullseye is a cherished format which has proved incredibly popular with viewers since its return, undoubtedly helped by Freddie. We’re thrilled to be bringing another series to screens later this year.”
Lily Wilson, Managing Director of Bright Entertainment, added: “We are thrilled to be bringing the iconic Bullseye back to British TV audiences later this year. With Freddie Flintoff equally as adored by the public, he is the perfect host for this modern take on a TV classic.”
Laura Wood, Managing Director of Bullseye Group Limited, also welcomed the show’s return, saying: “Bullseye is one of Britain’s most iconic television brands, and I’m thrilled to see it continue to resonate with viewers across generations. Freddie has embraced the show’s heritage while helping introduce Bullseye to new audiences. I’m delighted to build on the success of its return and bring more of the fun and entertainment that has made Bullseye a British favourite for over four decades.”
The upcoming series will feature a further eight episodes, including festive specials, giving viewers more chances to see celebrities take aim at the dartboard and compete for prizes.
With a mix of familiar television personalities, radio stars and some of the biggest names in darts, the new series looks set to bring more festive fun to ITV1 and ITVX later this year.
