Cooking With The Stars reveals celebrity line-up for series six

A fresh batch of famous faces are heading into the kitchen as Cooking With The Stars returns to ITV1 and ITVX for its sixth series on Monday 6 October.

Emma Willis and Tom Allen are back to host the culinary competition, which sees celebrities swap their usual careers for the chef’s whites as they attempt to master the art of cooking under the guidance of professional chefs.

This year’s line-up brings together stars from television, sport, music, comedy and entertainment, with Joey Essex, Scarlett Moffatt, Karen Hauer, Harry Aikines-Aryeetey, Dame Laura Kenny, Mark Charnock, Zara McDermott, Mark “Bez” Berry, Seann Walsh, JB Gill, Caroline Quentin and Lesley Joseph all taking part.

The celebrities will be paired with professional chefs who will help them develop their cooking skills, before the contestants put their newly acquired knowledge to the test in the competition.

With a mixture of reality TV personalities, sporting champions, actors, musicians and comedians in the cast, the new series promises plenty of different personalities around the kitchen table.

Emma Willis said: “I’m absolutely delighted to be back in the kitchen for another series of Cooking With The Stars. Every year our celebrities throw themselves into it, and this new line-up is no exception. It’s always a mix of nerves, excitement, and a few inevitable kitchen catastrophes which makes for brilliant tele. I can’t wait for everyone to see what culinary delights (and disasters!) our new batch of stars cook up!”

Tom Allen said: “The sheer nerve of these celebrities to step into our kitchen and attempt culinary greatness (or just, you know, edible food) is truly something to behold! I am absolutely delighted to once again join Emma to unleash another season of dazzling triumphs and utterly baffling disasters. Get ready for a delicious, slightly burnt and completely fabulous ride – that golden frying pan is waiting.”

The return of Cooking With The Stars also marks another series of ITV’s partnership with M&S.

Katie Rawcliffe, Director of Entertainment and Daytime Commissioning ITV said: “We are delighted to bring ‘Cooking With The Stars’ back for another series. The partnership with M&S continues to be a recipe for success, and this year viewers can expect even more surprising culinary transformations and laugh-out-loud moments as a fresh set of celebrities step into the kitchen to show what they can bring to the table.”

The sixth series will see the celebrity contestants face the challenge of learning new culinary skills while working alongside their professional mentors, with the competition ultimately testing how far they can progress in the kitchen.

For some of the cast, cooking will be a long way from their usual day jobs. Former Olympic cycling champion Dame Laura Kenny joins television personalities including Joey Essex and Scarlett Moffatt, while Emmerdale star Mark Charnock, The Vicar of Dibley and Benidorm actress Caroline Quentin, and Only Fools and Horses star Lesley Joseph bring acting experience to the kitchen.

The line-up also features dancer Karen Hauer, athlete Harry Aikines-Aryeetey, presenter Zara McDermott, Happy Mondays musician Mark “Bez” Berry, comedian Seann Walsh and JLS singer JB Gill.

With Emma Willis and Tom Allen once again overseeing proceedings, the celebrities will have to turn their enthusiasm into cooking skills when the new series gets under way.

Cooking With The Stars series six launches on ITV1 and ITVX on Monday 6 October.
