Emma Willis, Johannes Radebe and Josh Widdicombe are among the contenders in the 2026 Where to Watch TV & Streaming Awards, while The Grand Tour is shortlisted alongside Clarkson’s Farm in a competitive factual entertainment category.
The new faces of Strictly Come Dancing and The Grand Tour are making their mark on television, with the programmes and presenting talent featuring among the contenders in the 2026 Where to Watch TV & Streaming Awards.
Emma Willis, Johannes “JoJo” Radebe and Josh Widdicombe, who have taken over presenting duties on Strictly Come Dancing, are nominated in the Best TV Presenter(s) category under the collective entry “Emma, JoJo and Josh”.
The trio are taking over one of British television’s most established entertainment formats following the departure of Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman. Willis brings experience from shows including Big Brother, while comedian Widdicombe and professional dancer Radebe offer very different backgrounds to the presenting role.
Their inclusion puts the revamped presenting line-up alongside established television names including Ant & Dec, Alison Hammond, Graham Norton and Claudia Winkleman, as well as Allan Carr, AJ and Will, and Piers Morgan.
Meanwhile, The Grand Tour features in the Factual Entertainment category, where it faces competition from Clarkson’s Farm, Countryfile, Rob Vs Romesh, Zero S and Gogglebox. The nomination comes as the motoring series enters a new chapter with presenters Francis Bourgeois, James Engelsman and Thomas Holland taking over from Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May.
The awards page lists the programme rather than the new presenters individually, making its inclusion a notable recognition for the revamped series.
Coronation Street stands alone in continuing drama
One of the most striking features of this year’s nominations is the make-up of the Best Continuing Drama category, where Coronation Street is the only traditional soap opera among the listed contenders.
ITV’s long-running Weatherfield drama faces competition from a varied field that includes Blue Lights, All Creatures Great and Small, Casualty, Trigger Point, This City Is Ours, House of Guinness, The Night Manager, Bridgerton, Slow Horses, Cooper & Fry and Rivals.
The category brings together established returning dramas, crime series and high-profile scripted productions, rather than the traditional collection of British soaps viewers might expect.
For Coronation Street, the nomination provides an opportunity to compete against a broad range of scripted television, from police procedurals to period drama and glossy international productions.
A crowded field for entertainment and reality television
The awards also recognise the breadth of unscripted television, with several familiar audience favourites competing across the entertainment and factual categories.
The Best Public Competition Series category features Big Brother, Love Island, The Apprentice, Bake Off, Race Across the World, Hunted, Portrait Artist of the Year, Marvellous Miniature Workshop and The Piano.
The line-up spans reality television, amateur competition, creative challenges and travel-based entertainment. It gives viewers a choice between established reality franchises and programmes built around practical skills and artistic talent.
A separate Best Celebrity Challenge Show category includes The Celebrity Traitors, Celebrity Race Across the World, Celebrity Bake Off, Celebrity Sewing Bee, Strictly Come Dancing, I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! and Celebrity Hunted.
The presence of The Celebrity Traitors alongside established celebrity competition formats reflects the continuing prominence of celebrity-led entertainment, while Strictly appears in the category as well as being represented through its new presenting team.
The distinction between the two categories is important: the public competition award recognises programmes such as The Apprentice and The Piano, while the celebrity challenge category focuses on well-known personalities taking part in competitive formats.
Drama, comedy and international contenders
The Best Drama category features WAR, The Blame, Time, Agatha Christie’s Seven Dials and Pierre.
International productions also receive their own spotlight in the International Drama category, where Heated Rivalry, CSI, The Pitt, Lanterns and Young Sherlock are listed.
The acting category offers a similarly varied selection of television talent. The nominees listed are Archie Renoux for WAR, Jack Lowden for Slow Horses, Hannah Waddingham for Ted Lasso, David Tennant for Rivals, Lucy Punch for Amanda, James Nelson-Joyce for This City Is Ours and David Harewood for Pierre.
The range includes established stars and performers associated with returning dramas, comedy and newer productions.
In Best Comedy, the contenders are Amandaland, Ann Droid, Saturday Night Live, Last One Laughing UK, Ted Lasso, Small Prophets and Mock the Week.
The category mixes scripted comedy, sketch entertainment and formats built around comedians. With Ted Lasso appearing in both the acting and comedy fields, the awards recognise talent at both individual and programme level.
The Best Animated Series category includes established adult animation favourites Family Guy, The Simpsons, South Park and Bob’s Burgers, alongside Alley Cats and Stranger Things: Tales From…, as listed on the voting page.
Entertainment, lifestyle and quiz shows
The Entertainment Show category brings together Michael McIntyre’s Big Show, Britain’s Got Talent, The Graham Norton Show, The Masked Singer and Saturday Night Live.
Meanwhile, the Best Lifestyle Show contenders are This Morning, The One Show, Morning Live, Vanessa, Holly Willoughby: Together, With Love, Meghan and DIY SOS.
The awards also recognise quiz television, with The Finish Line, Celebrity Puzzling, House of Games, The Inner Circle, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? and The 1% Club competing for Best Quiz.
The category offers a mix of familiar daytime and primetime formats, from traditional general-knowledge challenges to newer quiz concepts.
A further category, Visualised Podcast/Companion Show, recognises the growing crossover between television and companion content. Its contenders are Big Brother: The Group Chat, Bake Off Second Helpings, Race Across the World: The Detour, The Apprentice: Unfinished Business and The Traitors Uncloaked.
Cosy crime and the next generation of television
Crime drama receives a dedicated category of its own, with the Best Cosy Crime Drama nominees comprising Marble Hall Murders, The Good Ship Murder, Murder Before Evensong, Midsomer Murders, Death in Paradise, Benidorm Is Murder and Madam Blanc Mysteries.
The selection combines established returning favourites with newer titles, reflecting the enduring appeal of mysteries that balance crime-solving with distinctive settings and characters.
Looking ahead, the Anticipated Series category offers a glimpse of productions viewers can look forward to. The nominees are Harry Potter, Doctor Foster, Neuromancer, The Choir and a Peaky Blinders sequel.
With major returning properties and new adaptations represented, the category is designed to recognise audience excitement around upcoming television rather than programmes already competing in the established drama fields.
Voting is now open
The 2026 Where to Watch TV & Streaming Awards cover international drama, acting, entertainment, reality competitions, factual programming, comedy, animation, continuing drama, quiz shows and upcoming series.
The breadth of the shortlist means the awards bring together established television institutions, newer formats and streaming-led productions, with the public invited to decide the winners.
Voting is open internationally and closes at 9am on Monday, 2 November 2026. Multiple votes are permitted, and the official awards page also invites voters to enter their email address to double their votes.
