How Does ‘The Traitors – Acts of Betrayal’ Work On Stage?

Unlike a standard stage play, The Traitors – Acts of Betrayal takes advantage of theatrical storytelling by exploring a “sliding doors” narrative concept.

The production asks a central question: What if different players had been chosen to be the Traitors on Night One?

• Monday to Friday Plays: Each weekday performance follows a completely different, self-contained play. The story begins identically on arrival at the castle, but shifts dramatically based on who wears the green cloak. Characters who are murdered or banished early on Tuesday might survive to win the entire game on Thursday.
• Saturday Interactive Shows: On Saturdays, the audience takes control. Theatergoers vote in real-time to choose who becomes the Traitors, deciding which narrative version unfolds live on stage.
• Stand-Alone Experience: You do not need to attend all five plays to enjoy the story. Each single performance functions as a full, completed drama from the arrival at the castle through to the final endgame.

Who Is Hosting ‘The Traitors’ On Stage?

While Claudia Winkleman remains the icon of the BBC series, she has officially “sworn in” her stage successor.

Actor and comedian Nick Mohammed (Ted Lasso, Slow Horses), who was a finalist on the first series of The Celebrity Traitors, will play The Host. In a ceremonial handover filmed at Ardross Castle in the Scottish Highlands, Claudia formally administered “The Traitors Host Oath” to hand over the West End mantle.

What About the Cast?

The full acting ensemble has not yet been revealed. However, the production is expected to feature stars from both the first and second seasons of The Celebrity Traitors.

The Creative Powerhouses Behind the Show

The stage adaptation is produced directly by Studio Lambert (the creators of The Traitors UK) alongside Neal Street Productions.

• Writer — John Finnemore: The multi-award-winning writer behind BBC Radio 4’s Cabin Pressure, John Finnemore’s Souvenir Programme, HBO’s Avenue 5, and the literary puzzle sensation Cain’s Jawbone.
• Director — Robert Hastie: Associate Director at the Donmar Warehouse, Hastie’s directing credits include the Olivier Award-winning Standing at the Sky’s Edge, the West End smash Operation Mincemeat, and revivals at the Apollo Theatre.
