Strictly Come Dancing fans are preparing for a dramatic results show tonight after Graeme Hall found himself at the bottom of the leaderboard during Saturday’s Halloween special. But with a historic three-couple dance-off looming, who will be sent home?
The pressure is mounting in the Strictly Come Dancing ballroom as the remaining celebrities discover whether their place in the competition is safe.
Sunday night’s results show (November 1) promises to be one of the most unpredictable of the series so far, with three couples facing the dance-off for the first time rather than the usual two.
Among those facing a particularly anxious wait is Channel 5 presenter Graeme Hall, who found himself joint bottom of the judges’ leaderboard alongside Tabby Stoecker following Saturday night’s performances.
Graeme and his professional partner Lauren Oakley received 25 points for their Samba, leaving them with plenty of work to do if they are to avoid the dreaded dance-off.
However, the judges’ scores are only part of the story. The public vote could completely change the picture, meaning even couples towards the bottom of the leaderboard are not necessarily guaranteed to be in danger.
Who is in the Strictly Come Dancing dance-off tonight?
This weekend sees a major twist in the Strictly format, with three couples facing the dance-off instead of the usual two.
The three partnerships with the lowest combined judges’ scores and public votes will have to perform again in front of the judges.
The panel will then decide which couple should leave the competition.
It means Saturday night’s leaderboard cannot tell the whole story, and viewers could be in for a surprise when the results are revealed.
Graeme’s supporters will certainly be hoping their votes have made a difference after his difficult evening in the ballroom.
Despite his low score, the presenter has developed a loyal following among Strictly viewers, with his personality and determination winning over fans throughout the series.
Lacey Turner and Vito Coppola top the leaderboard
At the opposite end of the leaderboard, it was a fantastic night for Lacey Turner and professional partner Vito Coppola.
The pair delivered an impressive Charleston, earning four nines from the judges and a total of 36 points out of 40.
Their performance put them firmly at the top of the leaderboard, giving them a strong position heading into the public vote.
John Nellis and Katya Jones were close behind, scoring 35 points for their Tango.
Cach Mercer and Maddie Ingoldsby, alongside Delta Goodrem and Kai Widdrington, shared third place after both couples scored 33 points.
But further down the table, things were considerably tighter.
Strictly Come Dancing leaderboard: Halloween Week scores
Here is how the couples finished following Saturday night’s performances:
| Couple | Score |
|---|---|
| Lacey Turner and Vito Coppola | 36 |
| John Nellis and Katya Jones | 35 |
| Cach Mercer and Maddie Ingoldsby | 33 |
| Delta Goodrem and Kai Widdrington | 33 |
| Will Best and Dianne Buswell | 32 |
| Dani Dyer and Nikita Kuzmin | 32 |
| Bethany Antonia and Nancy Xu | 30 |
| Jaime Winstone and Carlos Gu | 27 |
| Lawrence Robb and Jowita Przystał | 26 |
| Tabby Stoecker and Mark Karmalita | 25 |
| Graeme Hall and Lauren Oakley | 25 |
Could Graeme Hall survive another week?
Graeme’s position at the foot of the leaderboard has certainly put the spotlight on his Strictly journey.
His Samba failed to impress all four judges, with Craig Revel Horwood awarding him just five points.
However, the public vote has the potential to change everything.
Strictly has regularly demonstrated that viewer support can make a huge difference, and Graeme’s supporters will be hoping to keep him dancing for another week.
Tabby Stoecker and professional partner Mark Karmalita are also in a vulnerable position after finishing on the same 25 points.
Lawrence Robb and Jowita Przystał were just one point ahead on 26, meaning there could be several nervous couples waiting to discover their fate.
With three couples entering the dance-off, nobody can afford to feel completely safe.
