Who is in The Celebrity Traitors final?

who is in the final of the celebrity traitors

Contains spoilers: The finalists for The Celebrity Traitors have been revealed, with Maya, Michael, Romesh, Leigh-Anne, James Blunt, Kenny and Bash making it through to the final after a dramatic semi-final packed with shocking twists.

If you thought this series wasn’t as exciting as the last, thing again. The seven remaining players will now face the ultimate test as the game reaches its conclusion, with the Faithful hoping to expose the remaining Traitors before it is too late.

The semi-final delivered some extraordinary moments, with insiders saying the events left producers gobsmacked. Among the biggest shocks was James Acaster’s decision to sacrifice himself at the Round Table, bringing his time as a Traitor to an end.

Joanne McNally was revealed to be a Faithful and became the seventh player banished at the Round Table. Reflecting on her experience, she admitted that the emotional pressure of the game was far greater than she had anticipated.

“I underestimated the reality of the feelings that obviously you know we’re all wired to be accepted by our tribe and you can tell your nervous system over and over and over again it’s a game but at the end of the day when an entire table is turning on you, holding your name up, or somebody else’s, whatever way you want to phrase it, it doesn’t bring out the best in you”.

Sharon Rooney was also caught up in the drama, becoming the sixth player murdered by the Traitors. Despite her exit, she described the experience as unforgettable, saying the atmosphere inside the castle exceeded her expectations.

“Everything is heightened in there. It’s everything you hope and expect it’s going to be and MORE. You can’t describe it. Even just driving up to the castle on the first day is unreal. Each and every single moment is even better than you expect it to be”

However, it was James Acaster who delivered one of the semi-final’s most memorable moments. The comedian was exposed as the third Traitor and became the eighth player banished at the Round Table after choosing to sacrifice himself.

Reflecting on his decision, James said he was pleased to have reached the ninth episode and believed his move had made the final far more competitive.

“I feel pretty good getting to episode nine, and now we’ve got a proper final on our hands. With three Traitors, it would have been a foregone conclusion that we were going to win. Don’t get me wrong, I thought it was hilarious at one point that we were just going to walk our way to the final and win the whole thing, but this is much better, isn’t it?”

James also explained how he had managed the guilt that could come with playing as a Traitor, particularly when he saw how strongly the other contestants reacted to the twists and betrayals.

“The idea of doing that got me through the whole experience because you feel as a Traitor sometimes, when you see people have real life reactions that are bigger than the game, you feel bad, and I would have to remind myself they don’t have a game without you, literally, if no one’s doing this stuff, they can’t play, and they all want to play. So you are doing an important job here, so they all have something to do, and when they catch you, they’ll be really happy and they’ll like it, and it will feel good to just tell them and see that reaction”.

With James now out of the game, attention turns to the seven finalists and whether the Faithful can finally identify the remaining Traitors.

Michael could be in serious danger as the final begins. Having turned the heat on Maya, he has emerged as a potential target for murder, although he is not the only player facing suspicion. James Blunt and Romesh are also keeping a close eye on Maya, setting the stage for further tension as the finalists attempt to work out who they can trust.

With the prize within reach, every decision could prove decisive. The Faithful must uncover the remaining Traitors if they are to claim victory, while any Traitors still standing will be determined to keep their identities hidden until the very end.

We’ve no idea who wins, but our money is on James Blunt. Let’s see!

The final of The Celebrity Traitors airs at 8pm this Friday on BBC One.
