Denise Van Outen is heading back to live weekend television this Sunday as she takes on guest presenting duties alongside Simon Rimmer on Channel 4’s Sunday Brunch.
The former Big Breakfast favourite will be swapping her usual weekend plans for a morning in front of the cameras, joining Rimmer on the popular Channel 4 show on Sunday, November 8.
The appearance will see Denise return to the kind of live television that first made her a household name, with viewers likely to be delighted to see the presenter back in a breakfast TV environment.
There has been no word yet on which celebrity guests will be joining Denise and Simon on the sofa, or what the pair will be cooking up in the kitchen.
Denise, 52, is perhaps best remembered by television audiences for her hugely successful stint on Channel 4’s legendary morning show The Big Breakfast.
She first appeared on the programme in the mid-1990s, initially taking on weather and traffic presenting duties before becoming one of its main presenters alongside Johnny Vaughan in 1997.
The pair quickly became one of British television’s most popular presenting partnerships, bringing an irreverent sense of humour, cheeky banter and plenty of personality to the weekday morning show.
Broadcast from its famous house in Bow, East London, The Big Breakfast became a defining part of 1990s television, and Denise was very much at the heart of its success.
Her popularity on the programme opened the door to a hugely varied television career.
Away from breakfast television, Denise has appeared in a string of popular programmes, including acting roles in Where The Heart Is, EastEnders and Neighbours. She has also become a familiar face on entertainment shows including Strictly Come Dancing, Dancing on Ice, The Masked Singer and Celebrity Gogglebox.
She has also presented a number of documentaries and lifestyle programmes, as well as enjoying a successful career on stage.
Her musical theatre credits include playing Roxie Hart in Chicago, a role she performed in both London’s West End and on Broadway, alongside appearances in Legally Blonde and Rent.
More recently, Denise has continued to work across television, theatre and radio, including presenting Channel 4’s Steph’s Packed Lunch.
Her Sunday Brunch appearance will offer a welcome return to the breakfast television territory where it all began.
And with her natural warmth, quick wit and years of live presenting experience, Denise should feel right at home alongside Simon Rimmer.
Sunday Brunch airs on Channel 4 on Sunday mornings from 10am.
