Big Brother takes yet another dramatic turn tonight as tensions rise between Yasmin and Omar, while a game of Agree/Disagree forces the housemates to reveal exactly what they think about life inside the house.
Monday night’s episode of Big Brother promises plenty of friction as relationships continue to come under pressure.
Omar opens up to Rhianna about his argument with Yasmin the previous night, making it clear that he is unhappy with the way she became involved in the situation.
Meanwhile, the housemates are given the chance to publicly share their views during a revealing game of Agree/Disagree — and some of the answers are likely to cause further tension.
Elsewhere, Rob vents to Sam after becoming frustrated by the reaction of his fellow housemates during the task.
Yasmin and Omar’s friendship is on the rocks
Omar wastes no time making his feelings known as he speaks to Rhianna in the Garden about his argument with Yasmin.
He admits that he cannot believe the conversation happened in the first place, telling Rhianna: “I can’t believe I had to have that conversation yesterday, bro. It’s mad.”
Rhianna suggests that she does not think Yasmin should have involved herself in the situation.
Omar then explains why he was particularly frustrated, claiming that Yasmin made assumptions about how Twinky was feeling and about his own reaction to Twinky’s explanation.
According to Omar, Yasmin assumed that Twinky was angry, upset and felt “belittled and disrespected”, while also assuming that he was not satisfied with Twinky’s explanation.
He is particularly irritated by Yasmin’s claim that she will always stand up for what is right.
Omar questions this, asking: “Since when? Are we talking about the same Yasmin here?”
He accuses her of getting involved whenever there is drama in the house and admits that her behaviour has become increasingly frustrating for him.
Omar goes as far as to say that he no longer wants to speak to Yasmin.
“I’m not chatting to her no more, bro,” he tells Rhianna.
With their friendship seemingly in a difficult place, it remains to be seen whether the pair will be able to put their differences aside or whether the argument marks a more serious breakdown in their relationship.
Housemates forced to reveal their true opinions
Things take another interesting turn when Big Brother gathers the housemates in the Garden for a game of Agree/Disagree.
The rules are straightforward. For each statement, the housemates must choose between four options: strongly agree, agree, disagree or strongly disagree.
But while the game might sound harmless, the questions give the housemates plenty of opportunities to make their feelings known — and some of the answers quickly spark tension.
One of the statements asks whether it was acceptable for Frankie to tell other housemates that Twinks was a witch.
Lynx chooses strongly agree, explaining that she does not believe the comment was intended in a particularly nasty way.
“I personally don’t think that it was said horribly, it’s just ‘oh she’s a witch’. Like, that’s what she said,” Lynx says.
Twinks, however, is clearly unimpressed by the response and can be heard muttering under her breath.
Frankie also agrees with the statement, arguing that Twinks had been comfortable identifying herself as a witch in front of the cameras.
“If you’re comfortable telling people you’re a witch in front of all these cameras, it’s gonna go out to the public anyway,” Frankie says.
Twinks later confronts Frankie about the answer, pointing out that it is particularly interesting given the conversation they had in the toilet the previous night.
Frankie insists that she had already expressed the same view to Twinks during that conversation.
The exchange is another indication that disagreements from previous days are continuing to spill over into life inside the Big Brother house.
New housemates cause mixed reactions
The game also turns to the arrival of the two new housemates.
Big Brother declares: “Having two new Housemates is fantastic.”
But Rochelle isn’t convinced.
She chooses to disagree, admitting that she has struggled with the sudden change to the dynamic of the house.
“I don’t like change and to suddenly have two new people walk in, it was a real shock,” she explains.
Philip takes a more measured approach, saying that the original housemates had all started their journey together and had subsequently become like a family.
He admits that the arrival of two newcomers has changed that dynamic.
While Philip describes Cat as a nice girl, he admits that he has not yet had the opportunity to get to know Twinks properly.
For the new arrivals, the comments could provide an insight into how the original housemates really feel about their presence.
And with the group now being encouraged to share their opinions openly, there could be more awkward conversations before the task is over.
Rob vents to Sam after task
Elsewhere, Rob heads to the storeroom with Sam to discuss the reaction he received during the task.
The particular point of contention is the statement that Rob should not have stood on the dining table.
Rob is clearly frustrated by the reaction and believes that the other housemates effectively turned against him.
“The thing I didn’t like is that they all ganged up. Did you notice — how they all ganged up?” he asks Sam.
He goes on to highlight what he sees as a double standard within the house.
Rob is particularly irritated by comments suggesting that some housemates are too sensitive and need to “man up”, given that the same people were subsequently upset about someone putting their feet on a table.
He points out that the table was cleaned afterwards.
Sam then brings up another example, reminding Rob of the controversy surrounding Twinks being called a witch.
Rob agrees, arguing that housemates should not expect others to meet standards that they themselves do not follow.
“Don’t hold people to a standard you cannot hold yourself to,” he says.
Sam sums up Rob’s frustration with a simple observation: “Do as I say and not as I do.”
What happens on Big Brother tonight?
With friendships under strain and the housemates being encouraged to reveal their honest opinions, Monday night’s episode looks set to be another tense one.
Omar’s comments suggest that his friendship with Yasmin could be heading for a difficult period, while the Agree/Disagree task risks reopening several existing disagreements.
For Twinks, the discussion surrounding her identity as a witch appears to be particularly frustrating, while Rob remains unhappy about what he sees as hypocrisy among his fellow housemates.
As the house continues to evolve, the question is whether the latest arguments will bring the housemates closer together — or create even deeper divisions.
If you haven’t watched the current series yet, dive in, it’s not too late! This is classic BBUK at its best.
Big Brother continues tonight, Monday 5 October on ITV2 and ITVX.
