Big Brother: Tonight, 9pm, ITV2 and ITVX

Frankie walks away from a heated hot tub exchange, while housemates face a mysterious new challenge and the latest viewing figures reveal a ratings triumph for Big Brother.

Drama is continuing to unfold in the Big Brother house, with tensions rising between Frankie and Catrin, a mysterious new challenge leaving housemates scratching their heads and impressive viewing figures giving the series another reason to celebrate.

On the second day in the House of Mystery, housemates were greeted by an unexpected surprise when a mysterious locked box appeared in the Living Room.

Gathering everyone together, Big Brother explained that the only way to discover what was inside would be to crack the combination code, with pairs of housemates tasked with completing challenges to uncover individual numbers.

But there was an additional twist, as Big Brother revealed the numbers would also expose secrets surrounding nominations.

Rochelle and Catrin were first to take on the challenge, heading to the Diary Room where they were presented with a jar containing red and blue buttons.

Their task was to count the buttons and calculate the difference between the two colours to discover how many different housemates had nominated Rochelle. They then had to divide the result by three.

However, Rochelle appeared less than confident about the mathematical element of the challenge, asking: “What? How do you divide?”

Catrin quickly stepped in, replying: “Let me do it…”

Sam and Yasmin were next to face the mystery challenge, with their combination number involving the number of different housemates who had nominated Yasmin, alongside Sam’s total nominations during his time in the house.

With the numbers eventually worked out correctly, the housemates managed to unlock the Mystery Box.

Inside, they discovered an envelope for every housemate who had yet to receive a treat, although what Big Brother had arranged for them remained a surprise.

Frankie and Catrin clash as hot tub drama takes an awkward turn

The celebrations and challenges were not the only talking points of the day, as tensions between Frankie and Catrin threatened to overshadow the evening.

As some housemates headed to the hot tub to relax, an apparent joke from Catrin sparked an uncomfortable exchange with Frankie.

Clearly unhappy with the comment, Frankie made his feelings known, telling her: “Don’t be saying things like that… Misinformation.”

He then promptly left the hot tub, heading back inside alongside Lynx.

Reflecting on the incident, Frankie admitted he was concerned about how the situation could be perceived outside the house.

He said: “It can get taken out of context. It’s not the case. I’m very worried about my girlfriend. Very worried. And it just adds to it.”

Lynx suggested the comment would have been intended as a joke, but Frankie remained visibly unsettled by the situation.

Later, Catrin spoke to Twinks about the disagreement, admitting she felt uncomfortable about what had happened.

“I feel bad,” she confessed.

However, Catrin was also unsure whether she had actually crossed a line, adding: “I didn’t say anything wrong though, I don’t think.”

Twinks reassured her that she had simply made a joke that had not landed as intended.

She explained: “No, you made a joke. Someone didn’t take the joke correctly because people are in their feelings and it’s fine… Sometimes jokes don’t go the way you think they’re going to go…”

Twinks also suggested that tensions were already running high in the house, making even seemingly harmless comments more likely to cause friction.

Catrin subsequently admitted she was reluctant to cross paths with Frankie, asking: “Where’s Frankie now? I don’t want to go where he is…”

Offering some final advice, Twinks encouraged her not to dwell on the situation, suggesting that Catrin had unintentionally pushed one of Frankie’s buttons.

With both housemates seemingly affected by the exchange, the question remains whether the pair will manage to clear the air before the end of the night.

Big Brother celebrates impressive streaming success

Away from the house drama, there is more good news for Big Brother, with the latest viewing figures revealing a significant increase in audiences across ITV’s platforms.

Big Brother and its companion programme, Big Brother: The Group Chat, have collectively generated an impressive 52.4 million streams on ITVX, representing an increase of 20 million compared with the same period last year.

The series has also accumulated a remarkable 535 million digital views, while the show’s digital Sneak Peek has surpassed 100 million views, up by 30 million year-on-year.

Traditional viewing figures are also heading in the right direction, with overnight audiences increasing by 30% year-on-year across all viewers.

The biggest growth has come among younger audiences, with viewing figures for 16–34-year-olds climbing by an impressive 88%.

As the series approaches Thursday’s final, the figures underline Big Brother’s continued popularity and its ability to attract a growing younger audience.

With nominations secrets, housemate tensions and unexpected twists keeping viewers entertained, the House of Mystery looks set to deliver plenty more drama before the series reaches its conclusion.
