The Madame Blanc Mysteries: Jean investigates a shocking murder tonight

The Madame Blanc Mysteries returns to 5 tonight (Thursday, November 5) at 9pm, with Jean drawn into a murder investigation that becomes unexpectedly personal when a dead woman is discovered wearing a valuable necklace she sold just one day earlier.

There’s another intriguing mystery for Jean White to unravel in tonight’s episode of The Madame Blanc Mysteries, but this time the antiques expert finds herself much closer to the heart of the investigation than she would like.

When a woman named Julietta Moncrief is found murdered wearing an exquisite Tahitian black pearl necklace, Jean is stunned to discover that the rare piece of jewellery is one she sold only the previous day.

The necklace had been purchased by her osteopath, Dr David Stephan, who explained that he intended to give it to his wife, Vienna, as an anniversary present. So how did it end up around the neck of another woman?

With questions mounting and the circumstances surrounding Julietta’s death becoming increasingly complicated, Caron turns to Jean for help tracing the necklace and discovering how it came into the victim’s possession.

However, what initially looks like a relatively straightforward case of jealousy and infidelity soon develops into something much more complicated.

As Jean and Caron begin investigating, conflicting accounts and hidden relationships start to emerge, while the evidence refuses to support the most obvious explanation.

Jean’s specialist knowledge of antiques and jewellery gives her an important advantage, but it is her ability to understand people and recognise the emotions behind their actions that could prove crucial to solving the case.

Unfortunately, the subject of betrayal is particularly difficult for Jean, bringing back painful memories of her own past. As the investigation progresses, she finds herself confronting some uncomfortable feelings while trying to establish exactly what happened to Julietta.

Could the necklace hold the key to understanding the victim’s final days, or is there something much darker behind its mysterious journey?

Meanwhile, there’s plenty of drama away from the murder investigation, as Claudie attempts to distance herself from Marco.

Unfortunately, he isn’t prepared to accept that their relationship is over, and his increasingly controlling behaviour begins to cause serious concern.

Dom is desperate to protect his pregnant daughter, but finds himself in an impossible position as he tries to intervene without making an already difficult situation worse.

Jean offers her support, but the growing tension is beginning to take its toll on the household.

As the mystery surrounding Julietta’s death deepens, Jean and Caron follow the trail of the Tahitian black pearl, uncovering a troubling story involving trust, betrayal and possession.

And while Jean is determined to discover the truth behind the murder, Dom and Claudie are approaching a confrontation of their own, as they are forced to acknowledge just how dangerous Marco’s behaviour has become.

Will Jean discover how the necklace came to be in Julietta’s possession, and can she help bring her killer to justice? Meanwhile, will Claudie finally be able to break free from Marco before his behaviour escalates even further?
