Apple TV+ is set to premiere Down Cemetery Road, a compelling new eight-episode thriller starring Academy Award, BAFTA, Golden Globe, and Emmy Award winner Emma Thompson (Sense and Sensibility), alongside Golden Globe and two-time Olivier Award winner Ruth Wilson (Luther). The series will debut globally on Wednesday, October 29, with its first two episodes, followed by weekly releases every Wednesday through December 10.

Based on the novel by acclaimed author Mick Herron, Down Cemetery Road begins with a shocking explosion in a quiet Oxford suburb. In the aftermath, a young girl goes missing, prompting neighbor Sarah Tucker (Wilson) to launch an urgent search. Her obsession draws her into the path of private investigator Zoë Boehm (Thompson). Together, they uncover a labyrinthine conspiracy where the lines between the living and the dead blur—revealing that some long presumed dead are still alive, and others are disappearing fast.
The series is written and executive produced by Morwenna Banks (Slow Horses), who reunites with 60Forty Films’ Jamie Laurenson, Hakan Kousetta, and Tom Nash. Emma Thompson and Mick Herron also serve as executive producers, with Natalie Bailey (Bay of Fires) taking the helm as lead director.
Down Cemetery Road joins Apple TV+’s growing lineup of acclaimed thrillers, including the Emmy-winning spy drama Slow Horses, also based on Herron’s work. That series, which stars Academy Award winner Sir Gary Oldman, has been renewed through its seventh season, with Season 5 slated to premiere on September 24, 2025.
Since its launch in November 2019, Apple TV+ has rapidly become a powerhouse for original content, earning over 580 wins and nearly 2,800 nominations. Its portfolio includes critically acclaimed series such as Ted Lasso, The Morning Show, and Oscar Best Picture winner CODA.
