Tonight on Big Brother, winks admits her furious reaction to her 1920s outfit may have been about more than just the dress, as tensions with Rochelle continue to simmer in the Big Brother house.
Big Brother is taking housemates back in time tonight as the ITV2 and ITVX reality show introduces a mysterious 1920s-themed task, but the vintage glamour quickly gives way to frustration when Twinks is left unimpressed with her assigned costume.
In tonight’s episode, the house is transformed into the 1920s, with Big Brother announcing a mystery game called ‘June’s Journey’.
Addressing the housemates, Big Brother says: “Housemates, for today’s task, you have been transported to the 1920s and will be taking on ‘June’s Journey’ game.”
After getting into character, the housemates are divided, with some sent to the small task room while the remaining contestants are given the role of detectives.
Big Brother explains: “Housemates, you have now become detectives in this 1920s Detective Caper mystery. Omar, Rochelle, Frankie and Twinks, have been kidnapped. In order to solve the mystery of the missing Housemates, you will have to take on a number of tasks.”
With four housemates supposedly missing, the detectives must work through a series of challenges to solve the mystery. But will they manage to reunite the group, or will some housemates be gone for good?
There is also an unexpected surprise waiting for the housemates when the task comes to an end, with Big Brother promising a twist that sends shockwaves through the house.
However, it is Twinks who provides one of the episode’s more explosive moments, after taking issue with the outfit she has been given for the occasion.
Getting ready in the bathroom alongside Rochelle, Twinks makes no secret of her disappointment at her costume, particularly when comparing it with Rochelle’s look.
Twinks says: “I’m fuming. Like look at you, you look absolutely gorgeous and I look like what, an admin assistant from the 1920s. And it doesn’t make sense! They’ve given me a belt. You can’t wear a belt with a drop waist skirt. Make it make sense.”
Clearly unconvinced by Big Brother’s styling choices, Twinks later heads to the Diary Room to make her feelings known.
After Big Brother greets her with, “Good morning, Twinks,” she wastes little time getting to the point.
Twinks says: “Have I done something to piss you off? I’ve played the games. I’ve been a good sport. What the f**k is this?”
Big Brother responds: “That, Twinks, is a blue dress from the 1920’s.”
But the explanation does little to improve her mood, as Twinks continues to question why the other women have been given more glamorous outfits.
She says: “Why do all the other girls get to be glamorous and beautiful? This is daytime freakin’ casual… And they have gloves. I want evening gloves!”
Yet her frustration over the dress may have a deeper explanation than simply being unhappy with her appearance.
Later, speaking to Frankie, Twinks brings up a comment Rochelle made the previous day about her tendency to talk about sex.
Revealing that the remark had been playing on her mind, Twinks says: “Do you know what? I woke up fuming… I woke up this morning fuming.”
When Frankie asks who she is angry with, Twinks explains that she is still upset about Rochelle’s comments.
She says: “Just at the comment that she made yesterday about me always talking about sex. Have I ever told you any details about my sexual, my private sex life?”
Frankie replies: “I wouldn’t say so. Do I think you’re comfortable talking about it, yeah.”
Twinks is keen to make a distinction between openly discussing her sexuality and revealing intimate details about her private relationships.
She explains: “It was like, no. What I talk about is my sexuality, but I’ve never discussed any interactions with any lovers. I have never given anyone any details of anything I’ve ever done. So maybe my reaction about the blue dress was slightly more than just the blue dress.”
Frankie responds: “I see what you’re saying.”
Her admission suggests that the costume drama may have provided an outlet for frustrations that had already been building following her disagreement with Rochelle.
With the housemates facing a mystery involving missing contestants, an unexpected twist on the horizon and tensions continuing to bubble beneath the surface, tonight’s episode looks set to deliver more than just 1920s-inspired entertainment.
Big Brother continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
