Hits Radio and Capital revamp weekend schedules

hits radio and capital change weekend lineups

Hits Radio is shaking up its weekend line-up following another bumper RAJAR result, with Scott Clarke landing a new regular show as Lee Juggernauth prepares to take over Capital’s dance programming in a rival time slot.

Hits Radio is refreshing its weekend schedules, with Scott Clarke set to broadcast every Friday and Saturday night from 7pm to 11pm.

The move comes as Global prepares to relaunch its Capital Weekender shows, which air at the same time as Clarke’s new programme. Lee Juggernauth is taking over Capital’s dance show, replacing Kem Cetinay, who joined the programme in 2024.

The developments set up a fresh contest for weekend listeners, with the two stations offering competing shows across the same Friday and Saturday night hours.

Scott Clarke celebrates new Hits Radio show

Clarke is clearly delighted to be returning to a prominent weekend slot, taking over the 7pm–11pm hours on both Fridays and Saturdays.

The presenter replaces former Capital broadcaster Niall Gray, who has been with Hits Radio for a relatively short period.

Announcing the news to fans, Clarke wrote: “2026 is all about big comebacks it seems… BUZZING to be taking the reins of the weekends on Hits Radio EVERY Friday & Saturday night with my new show from 7pm!”

The appointment gives Clarke a regular presence across two of the biggest nights of the week, as Hits Radio looks to build on its latest audience figures.

Lee Juggernauth takes over Capital’s dance show

Meanwhile, Lee Juggernauth is stepping into the role of host of Capital’s dance show as Global prepares to relaunch its Capital Weekender programming.

Juggernauth takes over from Kem Cetinay, who joined the show in 2024 and is now moving on.

With Capital’s dance offering airing opposite Clarke’s new Hits Radio programme, the schedule changes place the stations in direct competition for listeners on Friday and Saturday evenings.

The contrasting line-ups will give audiences a choice between Hits Radio’s refreshed weekend show and Capital’s dance-focused output, as both broadcasters look to attract listeners during the same four-hour window.

Capital Dance recorded huge listening figures in the latest RAJAR results, issued today.

Hits Radio builds on strong audience figures

The changes come as Hits Radio also celebrates another bumper RAJAR result, providing a timely backdrop for its weekend refresh.

The station’s wider presenter line-up includes Fleur East, Will Best, Marvin Humes, Kimberly Wyatt and Sam Thompson.

Clarke’s new role adds another regular name to the schedule, while the simultaneous changes at Capital underline the continuing competition between commercial radio brands for weekend audiences.

With both shows occupying the 7pm–11pm slot on Fridays and Saturdays, listeners will soon be able to choose between Clarke on Hits Radio and Juggernauth on Capital as the stations begin their new weekend chapters.
