Way of the Warrior Kid: Chris Pratt’s Apple TV movie gets new release date

Chris Pratt is heading to Apple TV this holiday season with a brand-new family adventure, “Way of the Warrior Kid,” arriving just in time for Christmas viewing on November 25 – 5 days later than originally announced.

The new film, starring Pratt alongside Linda Cardellini and Jude Hill, will now premiere in the last week of November, giving families a fresh movie to enjoy together as the festive season gets underway.

Based on the story of a young boy struggling to find his place, “Way of the Warrior Kid” follows middle schooler Marc, played by Hill, as he navigates bullying, school pressures and the challenges of making friends.

Middle school has become a nightmare for Marc. A good-natured kid who constantly feels as though he is falling behind, he struggles with everything from academics and P.E. to fitting in with his classmates.

His life takes an unexpected turn when his uncle Jake, played by Pratt, arrives to spend the summer recovering from an injury.

Jake is a decorated Navy SEAL, and while he may have plenty of experience with military training, his mission with Marc isn’t simply to teach his nephew how to fight.

Instead, Jake creates an ambitious program he calls “Operation Warrior Kid,” drawing on lessons from his own SEAL training to help Marc build confidence and resilience.

The goal is to show Marc that courage isn’t about being the strongest person in the room. As Jake helps his nephew confront his fears and stand up for himself, he is also forced to face some of his own demons.

Cardellini plays Marc’s mother, Sarah, bringing another family dynamic to the story as the summer becomes a turning point for both mother and son.

At its heart, “Way of the Warrior Kid” is a story about overcoming adversity, discovering inner strength and understanding that being brave doesn’t necessarily mean throwing a punch.

Apple TV gets festive

The film joins a packed Apple TV Christmas offering, giving families plenty of options as the holiday season approaches.

The festive lineup also includes “Spirited,” the musical Christmas film starring Ryan Reynolds and Will Ferrell. The movie puts a musical spin on Charles Dickens’ beloved Christmas story, bringing the classic tale to life with two of Hollywood’s biggest comedy stars.

Apple TV is also welcoming viewers back to the world of Charlie Brown and the Peanuts gang with brand-new holiday specials, adding to its family-focused Christmas programming.

And music lovers can get into the festive spirit with classic holiday offerings from Mariah Carey, bringing her signature Christmas magic to Apple TV.

With “Way of the Warrior Kid” arriving on November 25, Apple TV is adding another major family title to its holiday entertainment slate.

For Pratt, the film offers a chance to take on a warm, inspirational family story, while the movie’s themes of courage, confidence and the importance of family make it a natural choice for Christmas viewing.
