Choo-Choo: All aboard the Big Brother Express
The Housemates are going on a journey in tonight’s episode of Big Brother as the latest shopping task gets underway — and they’ll need to keep the Big Brother Express running on time if they want to secure their shopping budget.
Gathering the Housemates in the waiting room, Big Brother explains what lies ahead for the rest of the day.
Big Brother: “Housemates, to pass this week’s shopping task, Housemates must travel around the house using the Big Brother Express train and successfully complete a series of tasks. If you wish to travel to Diary Room, Kitchen, Living Area or Garden, you must ride the train to the correct stop.”
The Housemates will need to navigate their way around the Big Brother Express while completing a series of challenges along the way.
But will the train run to schedule? Or will unexpected network issues derail their plans and leave the Housemates facing an economy shopping budget for the week ahead?
The House of Revelations continues
The latest shopping task also brings more revelations, as the Housemates are challenged to decipher quotes that have been made about each other.
Gathered in the Economy Seating Area, the Housemates must use the art of flag semaphore to work out the missing words in a series of quotes.
Rochelle says: “What’s flag semaphore mean?”
Big Brother instructs the Housemates to select two flag signallers and two receivers for the challenge.
Rob says: “I don’t mind receiving. I’m a military kid – this is in my blood.”
Frankie and Sam are chosen as the signallers and head into the garden, where they must communicate missing words letter by letter using flags.
The receivers must then work out the letters being communicated. However, there’s little room for error — if they guess incorrectly, they fail and have to move on to the next quote.
Among the quotes on the semaphore board are:
“Yasmin, she in my opinion BLANK everyone’s mood.”
Another reads: “Oh, it’s getting on my f****ing tits. I’m gonna explode. They think they’re f****ing BLANK.”
And another says: “If I told Harry to go to Primark to get me a pair of BLANK, he’d go to Iceland.”
The question is whether Frankie and Sam can master their flag-waving skills and successfully get the Housemates through the challenge.
Pauline and Catrin clear the air
Elsewhere in the House, Pauline and Catrin sit down at the Dining Table to discuss the fallout from the face-to-face nominations.
Catrin opens up about her decision and explains why she struggled with what happened afterwards.
Catrin: “I really do think you’re such a lovely person. But then, obviously it was just had to pick out of anything. And it was the next day, and you spent the day in bed – I felt really bad about that as well. I wouldn’t have chosen that if I knew it was going to warrant that reaction.”
Pauline: “Whether I like what you did or not, it’s your opinion. And I have to respect that.”
Catrin admits she was struggling to know what to do in the situation.
Catrin: “I was really struggling to think what could I do?”
Pauline then explains why the nominations came as such a shock to her, particularly given the reaction of some of the other Housemates when Catrin and the others first arrived.
Pauline: “I can’t lie. It was definitely a blind side. Because I know that a lot of people, I won’t name them, they had negative things to say the night you guys rolled up. And I was like despite me being in tears, I was like ‘let me put that aside, there’s new people here.’ But other people when they saw you were immediately stand-offish. They were like – ‘I don’t trust these people’. Went as far as we found out today, and yesterday. I was like ‘I’ve not done any of that, so it’s kind of like confusing for me.”
Catrin apologises for not giving Pauline enough space following the nominations.
Catrin: “Regardless of the fact, I still apologise for not giving you space, not giving you grace. I wish I’d given you more space.”
Pauline says she appreciates the apology but explains that her biggest issue was what happened after the nominations.
Pauline: “I appreciate you saying that. My main gripe was what occurred after. It wasn’t even really our situation… I just need to take time to process – it was a lot that day. It was like an onslaught.”
With tensions still lingering from the nominations, the conversation could provide some much-needed clarity between Pauline and Catrin — but with the Big Brother Express also throwing the Housemates into a new challenge, there could be plenty more drama before the day is over.
Big Brother continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
